Hello healthy steppers! My name is Peter, and I may be a little too excited to join the ranks of our healthy blogging team.
For years I thought I was super-fit just because I have a slim build. I imagined myself to be as nimble as a movie stuntman, even though I never exercised.
I was doing a lot of “talk” without the “walk.” Then, one day I found myself grunting when I kneeled down to pick something up off of the floor. I sounded like my grandfather! I realized that I was not very flexible, and I was also winded by a short jog down the block.
So much for being super-fit.
With my thirtieth birthday in sight, I decided I needed to adopt healthier habits. I wanted to make sure I’m more than just slim, but energetic, agile, flexible, and healthy, too.
I always thought the gym was only for fitness fanatics and runners. I hate running, yet over the past year I’ve found ways to improve my fitness that are still fun (including the gym). I’ve also improved my diet with more balanced meals and a focus on healthy whole grains.
I want to share my stories to show that anyone can make a habit out of being well, and that it doesn’t take a big goal like weight loss or lower cholesterol to see real, tangible, positive results.
